Equipped with razor sharp focus, extensive knowledge, diverse experience, and quick wit, Nicole Buggs Hazey takes on cases by serving a dose of compassion and humor with legal expertise and confidence to help move families forward.

Nicole is a Baton Rouge resident, who started her professional career in nursing before embarking on a career where she belonged – the legal industry. She graduated from Southern University Law Center in 2010, and became licensed to practice in both State and Federal Courts shortly thereafter. Nicole has worked as an attorney in several areas of practice including Family Law and Successions in the private sector, and also as a staff attorney for the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) in the public sector. She is well rounded in the areas of divorce, pre-nuptial agreements, child custody, spousal & child support, wills, successions, and adoptions.

Nicole’s solo practice allows her to hone in on these specialties to best serve her clients’ needs in the parishes of East & West Baton Rouge, Ascension, Livingston, and Tangipahoa. 

Ms. Hazey is very active in the Baton Rouge Bar Association serving the Family Law Section as the current Chair. In addition, Nicole makes it a priority to donate her free time to cases referred by the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation and Southern University Law Center by returning throughout the year to assist in judging Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions for future attorneys. Her family is active and committed to helping children in foster care in the Greater Baton Rouge area, as she recently finalized the adoption of a son through the Foster Care System. Ms. Hazey and her family are active members of B’nai Israel Congregation of Baton Rouge. She resides in Baton Rouge with her husband and two young sons.
